On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of race week (Nov 19–21, 2026), the roads that make up the track close at 1:00 PM and reopen after midnight. There’s also an overnight closure on Wednesday night. If you need a car for anything, like an airport run, a hotel change or a dinner reservation across town, do it before 1 PM.
The 2026 closure schedule
These are the track roads: Las Vegas Boulevard (the Strip), Harmon Avenue, Koval Lane and Sands Avenue.

The organizer’s A–Z guide has these times, but two of its reopening dates are a day off. It says Thursday’s roads reopen “Friday 11/21” and Friday’s reopen “Saturday, 11/22”. The Venetian’s 2026 guest guide lists the same times on the right dates, and that’s what the table uses. The Venetian also says closures start at 1 PM and are complete by 3 PM, and that pedestrian paths and footbridges stay open 24/7.

- Text alerts: text F1LV to 31996. Clark County’s alerts go out late at night or early in the morning, when the roads reopen.
Live traffic cameras
The RTC sends people to Nevada 511 for live cameras: nvroads.com/cctv. The RTC’s FAST team also runs a camera wall with Las Vegas Boulevard corridors (Sahara to Spring Mountain, Spring Mountain to Tropicana) and Flamingo Road. That’s the quickest way to see whether the Strip is moving before you call a ride.
If you have a car
- There’s no event parking. The organizer says parking around and inside the circuit will be limited and recommends walking or rideshare.
- Hotel garages inside the loop can be hard to reach. For example, The Venetian says the Palazzo garage closes for entry and exit during road closures, and that cars can reach The Venetian’s garage over a temporary bridge at Flamingo Road and Koval Lane. Ask your own hotel how its garage works during closures.
- Buses detour too. The RTC says the Deuce runs a modified route and schedule Nov 17–25. Check rtcsnv.com on the day.
Not going to the race?
If you’re in Las Vegas that week for something else, here’s what changes:
- The afternoons are the hard part. From 1 PM Thursday to Saturday, getting across the middle of the Strip by car is slow or impossible. Walk, or take the monorail, which runs 24/7 from Tuesday, Nov 17 to early Monday, Nov 23.
- The circuit is the center of the Strip. It uses the Strip between Sands Avenue and Harmon Avenue, plus Koval Lane behind the east-side resorts. Places outside that loop, like the south end of the Strip and downtown, are off the track itself, but expect traffic and crowds to spill over.
- Mornings are normal-ish. Roads reopen overnight, so a morning airport run or tour pickup is usually the easy option.
