Fly into Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), get to your hotel before 1:00 PM on any session day, and don’t count on driving anywhere once you’re here. Race weekend runs Thursday, Nov 19 to Saturday, Nov 21, 2026, so most people arrive Wednesday or Thursday morning and fly out Sunday.
When to arrive
- Wednesday, Nov 18 is the easy option. Roads close overnight on Wednesday (8 PM to 3 AM) but are open during the day.
- Thursday to Saturday: the track roads close at 1:00 PM and reopen after midnight. Land in the morning if you’re arriving on a race day, because an afternoon arrival means detours around the circuit.
- Leaving Sunday: Saturday’s closures end at 2:00 AM Sunday, so a Sunday morning flight is fine. Leave extra time anyway, because the airport says lane closures in both directions of the airport connector tunnels last through December 2026.

From the airport to the Strip
Taxi
Taxis wait outside baggage claim. At Terminal 1 they’re on the east side by doors 1–4, and at Terminal 3 they’re on Level Zero by door 52. Rides from the airport to the Strip are flat zone fares set by the Nevada Taxicab Authority:

On top of that there’s a $2.40 airport pickup fee, a $3 card fee and a small fuel surcharge, and a 3% excise tax applies to rates and fees. Tips aren’t included. Check the Taxicab Authority’s zone list for your hotel.
Uber and Lyft
Rideshare pickup is in the parking garages. At Terminal 1 it’s Level 2 of the garage, up from baggage claim and across. At Terminal 3 it’s the Valet level: go up to Level 2, cross the bridge and take the elevator to V. Drop-offs on the way home are at the departures curb.
Bus
The RTC’s Route 108 and RED LINE stop at Terminal 1, Level Zero (from Terminal 3, take the free inter-terminal shuttle first). The RTC suggests the RED LINE to the South Strip Transit Terminal, then a transfer. Visitor passes for Strip routes cost $4 for a single ride, $8 for 24 hours or $20 for 3 days, sold at the ticket machine at the stop or in the rideRTC app. During race week the Deuce, the Strip bus, runs a modified route Nov 17–25. It’s the cheapest option, but with luggage it’s slow.
Not an option: the monorail
The Las Vegas Monorail doesn’t serve the airport. It’s useful once you’re on the Strip (see getting around race week).
Driving in
There’s no event parking, and the organizer says parking around the circuit will be limited. If you drive in from Southern California, Arizona or Utah, plan to leave the car at your hotel for the whole weekend and walk. Check your hotel’s garage rules for closure hours, because some garages inside the loop close to traffic during them.
Renting a car at the airport means taking the free shuttle to the Rent-A-Car Center. For a Strip-only race trip, most people don’t need one.
Before you book
- Pick your zone before your hotel. Your ticket is for one zone, and the best hotel is the one you can walk from to that zone’s gate. See the first-timer’s guide and where to stay.
- Book Thursday to Sunday at minimum if you want all three nights. Sessions end late (the race starts at 8:00 PM PT Saturday).
