Privacy policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to opt out or ask us to delete it.

Effective October 28, 2026. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the formula.vegas team, who make formula.vegas, an unofficial, independent fan guide to the Las Vegas Grand Prix. See our disclaimer & legal notice.

1. What we collect

Details you send us. Our forms ask for:

  • Last-minute packages inquiry (on VIP packages): your name, email address, phone number (optional) and message, plus whether you ticked the required reply-by-email consent box and the optional calls-and-texts box, the wording of each, the time you agreed and the page you sent it from. When the form is connected, our form service will also record your IP address with the submission as proof of consent.
  • Newsletter (in the footer of every page): your email address.
  • Emails you send to hello@formula.vegas: whatever you choose to include.

Right now these forms are not connected to any system: when you press send, nothing you typed leaves your browser, and we don’t receive or store it. The form tells you so and points you to email instead. We will update this policy before we connect them.

Cookieless analytics. To see which pages are useful, we use PostHog, a product-analytics service (US cloud). On formula.vegas it runs without cookies and without local storage: it keeps its identifier in memory only, so each visit starts fresh and we don’t build profiles of you across visits. It records the pages you view and leave, clicks on links and buttons (including the element’s visible text), the referring page, your browser, device type and screen size, and an approximate location that PostHog works out from your IP address. It does not record your screen (no session replay), and it does not capture what you type into form fields. It doesn’t run at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Google Analytics. We also use Google Analytics 4 to keep our long-term traffic history. Unlike PostHog, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) in your browser and receives your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you view. You can block it with your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s opt-out add-on. See Google’s privacy policy.

Hosting and server logs. formula.vegas is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically processes technical data for every request, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser’s user agent and the referring page, to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited time under its own privacy policy.

Videos. YouTube videos load only when you press play, from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you press play, YouTube receives data about your visit under Google’s privacy policy. Our fonts are served from our own site, not from a third-party font service.

2. How we use it

  • to reply to your inquiry or email by email and, only if you tick the optional box, by call or text;
  • to send the newsletter you signed up for (each one will include a way to unsubscribe);
  • to understand which pages are read, fix problems and keep the site secure.

We don’t use your details for anything else, and we don’t sell lists of visitors or subscribers.

3. Sharing with travel and hospitality vendors

We are a fan guide, not a ticket seller, travel agent or tour operator. When you send an inquiry, the required box only lets us reply to your request by email. Ticking it does not let us share your details with anyone, and it does not let anyone phone or text you. We call or text you, including with automated technology or prerecorded messages, only if you also tick the separate, optional calls-and-texts box; you can leave it unticked and still send the form. Consent is not a condition of purchase: you can always buy directly from the event organizer or any seller without giving it.

Partners

We have no travel or hospitality vendor partners yet, and we share nothing you send us with any vendor. Before that changes, we will name each vendor here, add a separate, optional, unticked sharing box to the form that links to this list, and update this policy. Only inquiries from people who tick that box would be shared, and a vendor may pay us for the referral. We won’t share with ticket resellers or brokers.

Apart from that, we share data only with the service providers that run the site for us (Vercel for hosting, PostHog for analytics, Google for Google Analytics), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

4. Affiliate links

Some links on formula.vegas may be affiliate or paid links: if you click one and buy or book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Paid and affiliate links are marked and use rel="sponsored nofollow". We don’t send any of your details to the site you click through to beyond what your browser sends on any link (such as the referring page), but that site, or the affiliate network behind it, may set its own cookies to track the referral. Their privacy policies apply on their sites. See section 4 of our legal notice.

5. How long we keep it

  • Inquiries and emails: as long as we need to handle your request and any follow-up, then we delete them. Your consent record (the wording you agreed to and when) is kept for as long as we keep the inquiry, and afterwards only as long as we need it to show that you consented.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
  • Analytics: stored by PostHog and Google Analytics for the retention period of our plan, then deleted automatically. Because PostHog runs without cookies, this data isn’t tied to your name or email.
  • Server logs: kept by Vercel for a limited time under its policy.

6. Your choices: opt out, access and deletion

  • Withdraw consent or ask to be deleted: email hello@formula.vegas with the email address or phone number you used. We will stop contacting you, delete what we hold.
  • Access or correct the details we hold about you: email us at the same address.
  • Calls and texts: reply STOP to any text, or tell us, and we stop.
  • Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or email us.
  • Analytics: turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser and PostHog won’t run on this site; block cookies or use Google’s opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.

We answer every request, usually within a few days, and we don’t treat you differently for making one. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; email us and we will help.

7. Children

formula.vegas is a general-audience guide, and our inquiry and newsletter forms are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 for inquiry forms). If you think a child has sent us their details, email hello@formula.vegas and we will delete them.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we collect or how we share it changes (for example, before our forms are connected or a new service is added), and change the effective date above. If a change affects how we share details you’ve already sent us, we will ask for your consent again first.
