The short version: it’s Thursday to Saturday, everything happens after dark, your ticket gets you into one zone only, the roads close at 1 PM, and it gets properly cold. Each step below links to a longer guide.

The 10 things everyone asks first

When is the 2026 Las Vegas Grand Prix?

Thursday, Nov 19 to Saturday, Nov 21, 2026. The race is Saturday night at 8:00 PM PT. Qualifying is Friday at 8:00 PM PT, and Thursday is two practice sessions.

It’s a Thursday-to-Saturday weekend, not Friday-to-Sunday like most races, so book flights and hotel nights around that. Sunday is your travel day.

What time does the race start in PT and ET?

Saturday, Nov 21 at 8:00 PM Pacific, which is 11:00 PM Eastern. Every session is at night: practice at 4:30 and 8:00 PM PT Thursday, practice at 4:30 PM and qualifying at 8:00 PM PT Friday.

Where do I buy tickets, and what’s safe?

Face-value tickets come from the organizer at f1lasvegasgp.com, which sends you to Ticketmaster to check out. Your tickets live in the F1 Las Vegas app (it uses Ticketmaster Account Manager). There’s no will-call, so the app is your ticket.

Tickets can’t be refunded or exchanged. If a friend sends you one, it only counts once you accept the transfer in the app. Box offices near each main gate open at 2:00 PM on race days and sell whatever is left.

Resale is your risk. Know the face value first, pay by credit card on a platform with a buyer guarantee, and never pay a stranger by bank transfer or a payment app.

How much are tickets for 2026?

As listed by the organizer, including taxes and fees: general admission from $81 for one day (T-Mobile Zone at Sphere), grandstands from $99 for one day (Lewis Hamilton Grandstand) and the Main Grandstand from $206. Single-day hospitality starts at $1,383, and the Grand Prix Trio (three days, three views) starts at $3,178. Flamingo Zone GA, which started at $50, is sold out.

Those are the lowest prices listed. Lower-priced options can sell out: Flamingo GA already has.

Who won last year?

Max Verstappen won the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix for Red Bull. He also won in 2023, and George Russell won in 2024.

How do I watch it on TV in the US?

Apple TV has every session in the US this year. Apple says practice sessions are free to watch. Qualifying and the race need an Apple TV subscription, which also includes F1 TV Premium.

What is Grand Prix Plaza, and can I visit it?

It’s the permanent building at 4400 Koval Lane, on the corner of Harmon Avenue. The race’s start line is there, and the rest of the year it runs the F1 Hub, F1 Drive karting and the F1 X exhibit. It closed to the public on Oct 4 for race preparations and won’t reopen until 2027, so you can’t visit the attractions during race week.

Which roads close, and when?

The track is made of public streets: Las Vegas Boulevard (the Strip), Harmon Avenue, Koval Lane and Sands Avenue. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday those roads close at 1:00 PM and reopen after midnight. Expect cars to be stuck and walking to be the fastest way around from early afternoon.

Parking isn’t sold for the event, and the organizer recommends walking from your hotel or using one of four rideshare zones.

How cold is it, and what should I wear?

Colder than people expect. National Weather Service normals for Nov 19–21 are highs of 64–65°F and lows of 45–46°F, and you’re outside after dark. Dress in layers you can add to: a warm base layer, a fleece, a windproof jacket, a beanie and gloves, plus shoes you can walk miles in.

Umbrellas aren’t allowed, so bring a poncho if rain is forecast. Seat cushions aren’t allowed either. Jackets and blankets you carry in get patted down or searched at the gate.

How many laps is it, and how long does the race last?

50 laps of the 6.201 km (3.8-mile) Strip circuit, 309.958 km in total. The 2025 race took Verstappen 1 hour 21 minutes, so plan on roughly 90 minutes of racing after the 8:00 PM PT start, plus the build-up before and the podium after.

Sources, all checked Oct 22, 2026: organizer’s schedule, tickets, general admission and grandstands pages, the organizer’s A–Z guide, Apple TV, formula1.com (laps, distance), Grand Prix Plaza and the NWS Las Vegas November climate book. Winners: our results page.

1 Pick your night (or nights)

Saturday is the race. Friday is qualifying. Thursday is practice. A three-day ticket gets you all three, while a single-day ticket is one night in one zone.

  • Thursday, Nov 19: practice at 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM PT, plus F1 Academy practice and qualifying. A lower-key first look at the cars and the circuit before the big nights.
  • Friday, Nov 20: practice at 4:30 PM, F1 Academy’s reverse-grid race at 6:15 PM, and qualifying 8:00–9:00 PM PT.
  • Saturday, Nov 21: F1 Academy’s feature race at 4:20 PM, then the Grand Prix at 8:00 PM PT. Gates close at 11 PM.

Gates open at 2:30 PM every day. Full times in PT and ET are on the 2026 schedule.

2 Pick a zone

Your ticket is for one zone, and you stay in it. The app routes you to your assigned zone and gate, and there’s no wandering the whole circuit. So choose by the part of the track you want to see:

Organizer's one-day “from” prices with taxes and fees, checked Oct 22, 2026. Prices move and cheaper options sell out; buy only from f1lasvegasgp.com.

  • General admission means standing. The viewing platforms are first come, first served, so arrive early if you want a spot by the fence. More on zone passes and GA.
  • A grandstand gets you an assigned seat and a fixed view. On a cold three-hour night that seat matters. See grandstand seating.
  • Hospitality adds a club with food and drink (most include it). See hospitality and VIP.

Once you know what you want, here’s how to buy it safely, including resale.

3 Book a hotel near your zone

Book after you pick a zone, not before. The circuit runs through the middle of the resort corridor, so the right hotel is the one you can walk from to your gate. Being near the Strip isn’t enough.

  • The track runs along the Strip past Caesars Palace, Bellagio and The Venetian, then along Harmon Avenue, Koval Lane and Sands Avenue (past Sphere).
  • The F1 Las Vegas app gives walking routes from your hotel to your zone, and the organizer shares zone entrances with ticket holders before race week.
  • Hotel-to-gate walks during race week take longer than the map says because of fences and bridges. We aren’t publishing walk times until we’ve timed them ourselves.

More on where to stay.

4 Get to Las Vegas, and get in before 1 PM

Land and check in by late morning on any session day. From 1:00 PM Thursday to Saturday the track roads close, and anything on wheels has to detour around them.

  • Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is a few miles south of the Strip. Taxis charge flat zone fares to the Strip: $22.25, $26.25 or $30.25 depending on how far north your hotel is, plus fees. Uber and Lyft pick up in the parking garages. Details on getting to Las Vegas.
  • The monorail runs nonstop from Tuesday, Nov 17 to early Monday, Nov 23, but it doesn’t go to the airport. See getting around race week.
  • There’s no event parking. If you’re driving in, park at your hotel and leave the car there.

Full closure times are on road closures & traffic.

5 Pack for the gate

A bag that breaks the rules doesn’t get in, and there’s nowhere to leave it. The rules from the organizer’s A–Z guide:

  • Bags: a clear tote or backpack up to 12" × 6" × 12", or a small bag or fanny pack up to 6" × 9" (doesn’t have to be clear). Diaper bags are fine with an infant.
  • Water: an empty plastic or silicone bottle up to 24 oz. Water is free at the beverage tents and there are refill stations. No metal or glass bottles, cans or hydration packs.
  • Not allowed: umbrellas, chairs, stools, seat cushions, strollers, laptops and tablets, cameras with detachable lenses, selfie sticks, tripods, outside food and drink (unless it’s medically needed, in a clear bag).
  • Bring: a phone battery pack (there are no charging stations), earplugs if you have them (free ones are handed out at medical, guest services and accessibility points), and a card or phone wallet, because it’s cashless.
  • No lockers. Anything security rejects goes back to your room or in the bin.

What to wear, night by night: weather & what to wear.

6 Race night: timing

  • Gates open at 2:30 PM. Thursday they close at 10:30 PM, Friday at 9:30 PM, Saturday at 11 PM. The organizer says times can change.
  • There’s no re-entry after 7:00 PM PT. Before that, get your ticket scanned out when you leave your zone or you can’t come back in with it.
  • Food and drink are sold in every zone (cashless, no mobile ordering). Most hospitality includes food.
  • Kids: under 2 get in free on a lap. Under 18s have to be with an adult 18 or older.
  • Free Wi-Fi (“T-Mobile Fan Wifi”) is listed for every ticketed zone.
  • Leaving: roads reopen after midnight, so most people walk or take the monorail. If you’re using rideshare, the pickup zones are at Virgin Hotels, Park MGM, the Hughes Center and Tuscany.

No ticket? Here’s what you can still do

The circuit is fenced and screened, and there’s no free public viewing area. If you’re in town without a ticket, watch on Apple TV at a bar or watch party, or buy a cheap Thursday ticket. Our where to watch page has the details. If you’re in Las Vegas that week and not going at all, the not-going section covers what to expect.
